A downloadable game for Windows

Jigs' Adventure is a simple 2D action RPG created using Python and Pygame as part of my thesis project:

"DEVELOPING A 2D ACTION RPG IN PYTHON: REAL-TIME COMBAT AND CHARACTER PROGRESSION SYSTEMS."

In this game, you explore the world, battle enemies, collect experience, upgrade your stats, and aim to defeat all enemies to win the game!


Controls

  • W A S D – Move
  • Spacebar – Use weapon
  • Q – Switch weapon
  • E – Change magic
  • Left Ctrl – Use magic powers
  •  M – Open upgrades menu 
  •  A / D – Navigate upgrade options 
  •  Spacebar (in upgrade menu) – Spend experience points 
  •  P – Interact with signposts

Install instructions

  1. Click the Download button on this page.
  2. Once the ZIP file is downloaded, right-click it and select Extract All or use any unzip tool.
  3. Open the extracted folder.
  4. Double-click Jig's Adventure.exe to launch the game.

No installation is required — just unzip and play!
